Joining Our Association

We welcome a wide variety of Clubs, from those practicing Traditional Styles, those practicing Sport Karate and those that are Mixed Styles such as Wado & Shotokan.

Whilst we welcome established instructors of any Dan grade, we are keen to help new instructors just starting out, including new 1st Dans who would like to run their own club, but feel that they cannot do this within their present association. We can assist with advice on starting a club and supporting its development.

K.K.A asks that potential new Club members have:

  1. Professional Indemnity Insurance.  This can be obtained through K.K.A, with instructors who have coaching qualifications receiving a discount on P.I. Insurance. Alternatively, instructors can obtain this themselves.

  2. Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) – all instructors must produce an in-date certificate and registared with the update service.

  3. First Aid Qualification - Every Club Instructor must have a current First Aid certificate. The minimum is set at the one day Emergency First Aid at Work qualification or equivalent.
